Petite Golden Retriever aka the Adorable Small Golden Retriever

If you are looking for a small family dog that likes to mix up with your children, is intelligent and good tempered, you will love a Petite Golden Retriever. They are a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Spaniel. They can also be a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Cocker Spaniel. They can be bred further with a Poodle to produce miniature Golden Retrievers. While the qualities of both the dog breeds remain intact, these dogs are cuter and more adorable than their parents.

They are very social and outgoing and blend well in a family environment, especially with children. They are small and weigh only about 22-30 lbs. These dogs look like a small golden retriever and do not shed as much as other dogs do. So there are lesser clippings and the dogs stay happy too. They generally have a very good nature and would always be seen happily hopping around the person they adore the most.

The most important features of these dogs are intelligence and loyalty. They quickly adapt to new places, people and situations. Their shiny bright coat in a lustrous golden color makes them even more desirable. They can also be called the most human friendly dogs.  In fact, if you have ever wanted to own a Golden Retriever, but were cautious about its size, you can always opt for Petite Golden Retriever.

They are ideal for a small family with children. You don’t have to worry about space as these small dogs can adjust easily according to space. They are not purebred, so you can expect a little bit of difference in each puppy. However, most of them are very friendly; some maybe a little shy in the beginning. Moreover, the looks are mostly of the Golden Retriever, but mentally they can be a Spaniel as well. You must make sure that you buy pups from a responsible and trustworthy seller.

The pups have a small round face, but it becomes elongated as they get older. Moreover, the hair would also be longer and the pup might demand more human attention. This does not count as a drawback as most of the small dogs are needier than their bigger brothers. They can be trained easily so you might want to consider home training for the dog. Their eyes are full of spark and you would love the wiggle of their tail. Chances are high that they would jump on you and try to be caressed when you reach home. Overall, a very lovable dog.
