• Golden Retrievers are known to be the most loving and gentle dogs.

• The origin and the name – Golden Retrievers were first bred in Scotland and developed from Spaniels. They were named Golden Retrievers because of their shiny golden yellow coats and their ability to ‘retrieve’ in the tough geography of Scotland. They were mostly used for game and hunting purposes back in the 1800s.

• The nature- Golden Retrievers are purpose bred dogs. They are highly intelligent. In fact the third most intelligent dog breeds. They are kind and loving and would love to play with kids. They are also very obedient and listen to their master’s command at all times. Add to this the playful and puppy-like nature, they are forever babies.
• They are not all ‘Golden’- The coat color of a Golden Retriever may vary from light yellow to golden yellow. • It has varieties- Golden Retrievers also has a few varieties when it comes to countries. The original European Retrievers are more muscular with shorter tails and shorter legs. There is also a specific Canadian Golden Retriever type. These dogs are taller, slimmer and also come in deeper colors.
