White Golden Retriever |
In terms of temperament the white golden retrievers are generous, courageous, and intelligent. They are patient and mild
to guests. They can act on their own if necessary and will place themselves in
between their family and an intruder rather than bark at them. They will
recognize dangerous situations if their family is in harm but for friendly
visitors who present no threat, they are mild and calm. At times the male dogs
will be more aggressive to other males when the owner is not in the room.
Overall they are patient and playful with children.
The white golden retriever is very sociable and
enjoys companionship and the outdoors. They will drink lots of water and they
love to get wet. Puppies require more food than adults. These dogs thoroughly
enjoy swimming but training them should be done early. They are sensitive to the
sound of their owner’s voice and will behave to training presented in calm but
firm manners.
The male white golden retriever is
typically 28 to 30 inches in height while the female White golden retrivers
typically 26 to 28 inches in height. The males will weigh an average of one
hundred and thirty to one hundred and fifty pounds while the females weigh
between one hundred and one hundred and twenty pounds.
The white golden retriever is prone to a few
health problems, especially if they get fat. They are prone to heart disease
which is hereditary as well as hip dysplasia. Puppies should be checked for
sub-aortic stenosis once they reach eight to twelve weeks old. Adults should
not be allowed to breed until they have been cleared for this.
If you own a white golden retriever
you should ensure that they are given cool climates. They are sensitive to
warmer weather and enjoy cool water. While indoors they will remain relatively
inactive and can handle a small yard. In terms of exercise daily walks are best
suited for these dogs. They should be made to walk beside the owner or at their
heel. In all cases the human should lead and the dog should never be allowed to
lead. These dogs enjoy frequent swims as well. They will typically live to be
ten years of age.
